At this particular time in history, we see a true monopoly of diamonds reserved purely for men,s jewellery. Such historical figures as Charles the Bold, the Duke of Burgundy (1433-1477) who were avid collectors of diamonds and he himself had a vast array of men's jewellery including one of the very largest diamonds of the time.
Men's Earrings
Men’s stud earrings are by far one of the least feminine pieces of men’s jewellery worn by men. Archaeological reliefs showing men’s earrings have been found, dating from the reign of Darius (522-486 B.C.E) these were usually in the form of gold earring hoops, shown on reliefs. Later in history, during the early 20th Century, men’s earrings were an emblem of equatorial achievement amongst maritime travellers.
