An introduction.

Carat diamond rings, or 1 carat diamond rings, can contain diamond weight made up from either a single one carat diamond (in the case of a solitaire) or divided across the diamonds. Here we try to explain some basics about one carat engagement rings, and suggest 1ct designs that will inspire anyone looking for a truly elegant design.

Carat Diamond Ring Offers

Carat diamond rings is a term which can be applied to a wide range of rings and the cost can vary enormously. When it comes to diamonds, a 1 carat weight is a magic figure that many aspire to, in providing the ultimate in diamond engagement rings. There are some clever pieces of advice which can save money or help you gain the best diamond to suit your budget rather than to spend to much. Firstly we are going to have a look at different ring types available for 1 carat diamond rings. These can be divided into the following two divisions; one diamond (solitaire) and those containing more than one diamond (eg. three stone, cluster etc) The difference between these two is predominantely one of cost. The first, refers to a single stone weighing 1ct in total. In the same quality of diamond, this will be much more expensive than the second category where the diamond weight is split between more than one diamond. The larger the amount of diamonds, the less expensive the ring will be. Having said this, there is something spectacular about the appearance of single stone one carat diamond rings. The size of the diamond can vary depending on which shape of diamond is chosen. Below we have listed a table of diamond sizes for one carat diamond rings. This measurement represents the physical size of a single diamond of 1ct weight.   Probably the best carat diamond ring to choose for size alone would be one of the cluster rings. These spread the 1ct weight across the whole ring. If you like the show of a single stone, why not combine both. Our contemporary diamond cluster rings are carat diamond rings with a difference. Each one features a large central diamond surrounded by diamonds around the stone and many have diamonds across the shoulders. These reduce the cost of the overall 1ct ring and are noticeably lower in price than a single stone carat diamond ring.

A selection of three stunning designs, showing the size of a 1ct diamond, typically 6.5mm for round diamonds, 5.5mm for princess cut diamonds.

Probably the best carat diamond ring to choose for simplicity would be one of the diamond solitaire rings. Containing a single diamond weighing a full 1ct,  many of these designs exhibit simple minimal settings that hold the showpiece, the diamond itself. Such designs can be elaborated upon by the addition of diamond set shoulders. The band itself can be slim or more substantial depending on the preferences of the individual. Such designs as this incorporate the simplicy of the classic Tiffany setting. This is essentially a matter of opinion. One of our personal favourites is the two stone twist incorporating two half carat pear shaped diamonds. This is one of the most attractive of the carat diamond rings with the ring made to fit two matching pear shaped brillant cut diamonds. Such designs make the very most of the shape of the stone yet keep the ring design itself very simple but different by the intricate handling of the mirrored styling.

Three designs featuring a divided one carat weight, between multiple diamonds, always a good way of reducing the cost of a 1ct ring.

The difference between these two is predominantly one of cost. The first, refers to a single stone weighing 1ct in total. This measurement represents the physical size of a single diamond of 1ct weight. We can indicate which diamonds have the greatest size and visible impact and which diamonds give the greatest return of light. Provided the diamond has a very good cut, seldom noted on certificates for many of the

fancy shapes, the return of light will provide a significant amount of fire from the diamond. Possibly the largest show can be obtained from the Marquise cut diamond. This is the "boat" shaped diamond also referred to occasionally as Navette. Due to the length of the diamond, which usually sits along the finger in a solitaire ring, Marquise carat diamond rings provide a slightly more unusual design, which is both simple and showy due to the proportions.
