Diamond bracelets have become an important part of diamond jewellery design and as a result, many styles exist providing for a range of budgets. From diamond encrusted bracelets to more conservative examples, there are countless styles available.
Let us begin by just briefly explaining exactly what is a diamond tennis bracelet. The term has been applied to what others have called a diamond line bracelet or diamond eternity bracelet, describing diamonds set in a repeated pattern along the length of bracelet. The name first appeared after an incident back in 1987 during the Tennis US Open in which Chris Evert's diamond bracelet worn during play, broke away from her wrist and fell to the floor of the court. After play was interrupted for her to find the bracelet, the name was used in the media for this style of bracelet and has been used by many ever since.
Some of the more famous of American diamond houses have produced many examples for a whole procession of celebrities including stars such as Calista Flockhart and Madonna. Amongst the tennis fraternity, it has become a very popular piece of jewellery to own, with celebrities such as Serena Williams further enhancing it. Over a decade later, she wore a more elaborate version of the diamond tennis bracelets with a floral cluster design composed of two hundred and forty two diamonds set into Platinum settings with over twelve carats of the finest, whitest, diamonds.
