Diamond Carat Weight (abbreviated Ct) |
Diamond carat weight is a metric measure of diamond weight. 1 Carat is equivalent to 0.20 grams. 1 Carat is divided into 100 points, so diamonds singly or collectively weighing 0.50cts will be 50 points (pts) in weight. Similarly, a quarter of a carat of diamonds (0.25cts) will be 25 points. Collectively, a quantity of diamonds weighing in total 0.50cts will not have the same value as a single diamond of the same weight.
- 1ct = 100 points
- 1ct = 0.20 grams
If you would like to know certain measurements of diamonds, we have compiled tables showing the measurements against weights of certain diamond shapes. This should give you an idea of how large the diamond is depending on the diamond carat weight.
